Welcome....
to the chaotic and often strange life of a Quasi, Clumsy Spiritual Warrior, Dan Abernathy. This is the weekly Newsletter where I share with you my voice, be it in words, art, or my collections of oddities, fascinations, desires and obsessions. Here I will make available 98% of all my perspectives, be they fluid and random, meandering and incomplete, or things I have completed and offering. They other 2% I keep to himself, archived and a gift for the scholars and naysayers to decipher later on. This will all be delivered to you via the web, whether I am roaming the road in his converted 1991 International school bus, The Chool Bus, home in Pinedale, Wyoming or briefly hanging my hat in another dusty corner of the world.

Hello This Morning!
“You may be defined by what you do, but do not let your job-description
become your self-description.” - dbA

Words Of Wisdom – Words of too Much Wisdom
It usually only takes about three minutes, following meeting someone new, to be asked what it is that you do. You must recite your job description as the lead for self-description, the resume of who you are. We have become categorized by our employment, in some type of a sticky residue from the Industrial Age. Like dogs meeting for the first time, this is the way we sniff the ass in preparation to tag, group and judge. What we do for employment does no have to be who we are. I would rather be asked what makes me laugh? What makes me cry? What makes me feel engulfed with bliss? When was the last time you stopped and helped someone for the simple reason to just help? When was the last time you felt gratitude, kindness or hope? When was the last time you showed and gave freely, unconditional love? These are the questions we should be asking in the conversations to get to know and appreciate each other. Then we might better understand what it is that you do. - dbA

Poetry from an Anti-Conformist and Outlaw Poet
As poetry is a passion, one new bit of fun I have been having is submitting my poetry to different literary journals, both online and printed collections. Last week I had my poem, The Taste excepted by the online literary journal, In Between Hangovers.

Featured Poem of the Week
Some Hot Tea
All I could see
were your jutting nipples
stretching the white cotton top.
All I could hear
was your question,
“did I want some hot tea?”
All I could notice
was the stance you posed,
with this question on your face.
All I could wonder
was the tea in bags or loose?
