Wyoming Wild Horse - on Antique Map

Pen & Ink on Antique Map
The Art of Dan Abernathy
Inspired by the Ledger Art of Native Americans, created primarily from the 1860’s to the 1920’s, I have combined antique maps with my version of stippling into my own creative perspectives. The background for this drawing of a wild and free roaming horse is on a map of Wyoming, published in 1901 in a George Cram Atlas. It measures 11 X 14 inches and is framed with patinaed copper to a 16 X 20.
