pho·to·mon·tage
foh-tuh-mon-tahzh
–noun Photography.
a
combination of several photographs joined together for artistic effect
or to show more of the subject than can be shown in a single photograph.
mon·tage mon-tahzh; Fr. mawn-tazh
–noun the
technique of combining in a single composition pictorial elements from
various sources, as parts of different photographs or fragments of
printing, either to give the illusion that the elements belonged
together originally or to allow each element to retain its separate
identity as a means of adding interest or meaning to the composition.
Each of my photomontages are one of a kind. I might use the same images
of the subject, but each one is assembled differently. I usually start
the process with a small idea, or concept of a layout. I like to let
the piece speak and together we come up with something that is eye
appealing. I am sure it has a lot to do with my inner self, sometimes
my inner demons, and some are just done because I think it looks cool.
What ever is behind what I am doing I feel it is working. The images
that you see might and probable do differ from what you would receive
if you choose to purchase one. I personally frame each piece when the
image is done, thus the framing becomes part of the image. They are all
done with metal flashing and different objects from a hardware store. Click here to see an example. Contact me if
you have any questions.
