Welcome to
the chaotic and often strange life of Dan Abernathy. This is my
platform for random thoughts, often meandering and incomplete, rants,
praise, love, words of no meaning, and words of too much meaning. This
is my voice. It is my collection of oddities, fascinations,
photographs, desires, and obsessions – a road map of sorts, tracking a
vagabond who walks in dreams of a pure, hedonistic life. This is a
place to keep those interested informed not only of what's happening in
my life, but also what is igniting in the gray matter of my mind.
Hopefully, you will get a glimpse into the state of my chaos and
confusion. Here there are no rules! By entering and staying, you will
be opening doors to my mind and looking in. Some will find this venture
entertaining and filled with wonderment. The unknowing or unwilling to
know will find pure confusion, fear, and bewilderment.
This blog is a
love letter to
everyone and anyone that may choose to
spend some time here. It is a love letter as true love is honest and
that is all you will find here, 98% honesty of who and what I am. The
other 2% is going to the beyond with me, so the scholars and naysayers
can figure the last bit out.

Hello This
Morning!
Look at the world as if for the first time,
see the magnificent, the enchanting
and know it is the wonderful reflection of
living life.

Last Call
Last Call! The words fall hard on the numbed ears of those sitting and
waiting. Last call, last drink, last swallow and last look around.
Button up the coat; step out into the darkness and cold. The only
reprieve of the cold comes from knowing the brutal force hitting and
stinging your face now, is nothing compared to the cold felt when
entering your bed alone. –dba

Hello This
Morning!
Every day opens the threshold of a new horizon.
We can turn our back to it, or we can open our arms and embrace it.
The choice is yours.

Wonder and
Worry
There is comfort found from deep within when arriving in a suffocating
metropolis and being the stranger there, and thinking you are at hand
to breath. It seems that no matter what destination, the occasion, or
reason that takes me there, before long I'll lose myself into the
streets and alleys where people of normal sanity would stay clear of.
These dirty streets of intrigue are stained with wonder, worry and
excitement where you too can be perceived with wonder and worry, but
mostly, you just are. – dba

Oneness is everything acceptable to be its true nature,
unconditional love is just that, nothing less,

Three Egg Omelet
The hardest part of a stripper’s life has got
to be working the morning shift in a 24 hour topless bar. The
glossy-eyed drunks, the red-eyed hangovers and the lonely gawkers have
more interest in eating eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy and a spicy
Bloody Mary then watching the shapely breasts bouncing, gliding and
striding the stage, or being smashed and twisted into a stripper pole.
When these tanned and glitter covered girls drop to their ass on crotch
row, spread their legs to accept the excepted dollar bill being stuck
in their G-string it is hard to be distinguish eating a beaten egged
omelet. – dba

Hello This
Morning!
When you meet
a kindred spirit, embrace them and feel your energies unite.
If there is none, embrace them anyway and illustrate yours.

The Trees are
the Same
The rain runs down the gutter and plunges to
the ground. The trees stand wet but are all the same. I live inside a
dwelling that has stood the test of time. I am not the first to stand
at the sink with an open robe, sit in the bath, and make love in the
bedroom. Assured there has been countless before me. Some I have know,
some I have not. And, as I run some water from the leaking faucet for a
fresh pot of coffee I know I will not be the last. But the trees are
the same and standing wet from the rain. - dba
