Black Ice
I hit some black ice and slid right
into the side of my car.
I'm sure glad it was there to stop me.

A Soul
Mate
The lucky
ones find their true soul mates at an early age. Others do not find
them until they are a lot older, maybe almost a lifetime. Some may
never find them as they have shut their eyes and stopped trying, giving
in to just the way it is. The ones that have not found them are in for
a wondrous experience, the ones that have found them should treasure
what they have and realize they are blessed.
A soul mate makes your energy flow and transform. The energy form both
people flow together and make a true whole. When the half's join, when
they come together they share a life purpose. It is no longer about me
it is about us. They compete the circle. You compliment each other. You
are a reflection of the things you need to learn; you find the missing
pieces of you. You grow together and become so in tune that you make
each other know yourselves better.
Each of us has pluses and minuses in us, in our souls, in our
personalities. It is positive energy and a negative energy. These are
good and bad qualities. A soul mate compliments and balances the energy
you have and what you are missing. You do this for each other.
The voices are load; they are screaming at us to listen, to react and
not let them pass by. You have to listen to your inner voice and not
let your ego get into the way. Don't let it shout loader. External
benefits have nothing to do with finding the true one. They are
irrelevant. External attractiveness can blind and confuse, but it is
just glitter and lights. There is nothing for the person, the soul; all
they do is control and drain. They have no water to help nourish and
grow as we push on, striving to reach the next level, together. - dba

Change
For some
of us, the lucky ones, our lives are governed by change. New and
different, we are the ones trying to thrive outside the box. Often
times so far from their constraints there are few around us. Being
here, living in the risk zone we do not feel crowded, there is less
standing close and more room to breathe. We have an uncontrollable urge
to leave normal, to seek change, we look for the edge, to search for
the grail. Freedom to change, to live off the wall is inscribed in the
bones of who we are. If we ignore this innate makeup and completely
avoid risk, we will sabotage our greatest potential. - dba

Tommy,
circa 1970 something, we were in our teens.
Tommy Did
It
There is
no way I can hear ZZ Top without tumbling back to the past. The wild
days of my late teens, the days spent sitting between two 100-watt JBL
speakers listing to LaGrange blast at the highest possible decimal. The
music wrapped you in a cocoon while the base bounced off your body like
the concussion of a bomb blast. The whole time you were riding this
musical nuke, Tommy was blowing shotguns at you out of a sixteen inch
brown pipe, while grinning a smile that only he could muster. Was it
Tommy, or Francine, no I'm sure it was Tommy. I think?
- dba
Three
days after I penned these words I was notified that Tommy had passed
on. Tommy lived his life large and he knew where the edge was. He found
it and went beyond its border. Here's to you my friend. I know you got
that smile back on your face and jamming to the good ones. As sure as
I'm writing this, Tommy came and said, "so long" as I was listening to
LaGrange that day. He left this world the same day I went back and
revisited our old times together. Tommy was a great friend from my past
and he might be gone now, but we drank a toast to him and I know I'll
see him on the other side.

Wonder
No mater
what happens in life, or what restrictions are forced onto us. We must
never loose our sense of wonder. Wonder will keep us looking and
searching for the new. Wonder will keep us living and living will keep
us swimming in the wonderfully ultimate world of wonder. - dba

More Chaos Cards. They are sweeping the nation…SOON!
The Road
is my Whore
Moments
before departure my mind is racing with noise and anticipation, because
the lure of the road is so damn strong. Mozart, Disney's Fantasia, ZZ
Top, Willy Nelson, Louie Armstrong and Nina Simone are all fighting for
space to ride in my head. Then when I hit the high plateau my mind is
clear. The lore of the open road explodes it becomes my mistress, my
lover, my whore and I am lost to all reason. - dba

Do I Call
Myself a Fool,
I may
never be truly happy. This may be my plague as I tromp through life.
Should I settle for this and call it contentment, or should I strive to
always be searching? It is change we live for, it is change we search
for. Change keeps us stimulated it keeps us calm. Should I live close
to, or with the earth, or do I call myself a fool for letting life fall
here? Do I stand up and remind myself, shout and scold myself that it
is the journey you seek, not the destination, or do I call my self a
fool and sadly sit down? - dba

The Ranch Shrew
I
once lived in an old house on a ranch way out in the country at the end
of the road. Also living in the house was a little shrew. Every evening
he would come out to feed. Often times we would even feed him. This
shrew had a certain smugness about him, but he died in a mousetrap. I
should have had him mounted by a taxidermist like Roy Rogers did to
Trigger. Although I not sure what shelve I would have put him on. - dba

Calming
Down
At
the end of the day when life is calming down I feel my life is so
incomplete. Depression starts looming at the door, knocking hard to
come in. Some nights it is all I can do to quit the banging and keep
him out, to wage the war, to fight the battle and keep pushing him
back. My army is strong, my victory complete and my medal is keeping
the living alive in my heart and mind. -dba

Signs
– Signs Everywhere a Sign
People
say, "this is just coincidence," or "a spontaneous thought," but what
it really is, is a sign. If we as the receiver pay attention and stop
ignoring them, our lives will become better. When were getting the
message that this is the way, then fallow the sign. When things are
meant to be they are not difficult, they flow easy. When obstacles
appear in our path take a step back and look at the bigger picture. We
may be getting a message that something is not meant to be. Remember
to, that when stepping back and looking be sure that the obstacles are
not being thrown out of your own uncertainty. Life and happiness are
simple; fallow them. I truly believe that spiritual guides give us
signs. When we become in tune with, and listen to these quit leaders
will greatly illuminate our travels through life. - dba

The Penn Street
Perk. This is a coffee shop, in Denver, that I can sit in for hours and
be totally lost and found at the same time. I contemplate, I write I
watch I start the morning in a way that should be done and when my
thoughts were collected, stored, or discarded I would walk away into a
blissful day.
Let Me Tremble
Let
me hold, see and feel all that is beautiful.
Let
me know people are good and not only living for themselves.
Let
me know, want and keep love and compassion.
Let
me pass onto others a few moments of joy.
Let
me give my children a road map to what is pure.
Let
me help all that I meet tremble with life.
Let
me live in this way, and I will tremble with life. - dba
